Hi - and thanks for dropping by. I've been fortunate in having had the chance to visit some wonderful places in my life and as you can see there is one place which is rather dear to this old heart of mine. Nepal and the Himalayas.

I've been there twice now, and I hope to get back there again. The land in it's savage rawness is beautiful beyond compare. The people who live in the cities and the mountains are the most gentle and  hospitable souls you'll ever find anywhere. I have made life long friends there!

Another place I've had the pleasure of seeing is New Zealand. NZ is a land of dense forests with towering tree ferns, glacier fed streams so pure you drink right out of them. There are pristine beaches that stretch for miles, Southern Lights that stream over head in the star spattered skies, breathtaking mountains and waterfalls, a ragged western coastline where the Tasman Sea pounds rocky cliffs and so much more. The Maori people are a delight. They are bold and determined, wonderful hosts full of culture and stories to delight you for years to come. And if you find yourself in Queenstown, the local Kiwis will take you on a ride of a lifetime. Better buckle up buttercup! 

And then there's Alaska - a land  misunderstood by many. It's not all snow and ice all year long! Home to Mount Denali, the magnificent land is a tapestry of deep fjords, active volcanoes. sprawling tidal glaciers. During the three weeks I was there, I met some of the finest people you'll come across anywhere. I took a ferry to an island steeped in Russian tradition, then fished the salmon rich Kenai River. If you're an outdoors man, there no place better to get close and personal with the abundance of wildlife, populated with moose, caribou, seals, eagles and of course bears. In Alaska, it's really hard to take a bad picture.
